Shop Rite

In his work hours, 1776 member Kevin Mackie runs the dairy operation at Jeff Brown's newly-renovated ShopRite in Cheltenham.  In the rest of his hours, he's reached the peak of the music industry as a Grammy Award winner.

Talk about a win-win! Visit here to view a short video that describes how ShopRite is heavily engaged with the community group "Teens 4 Good"  to produce locally-grown produce.  The fruits and vegetable are grown by neighborhood youngsters and sold on site, in local small stores and in Philadelphia-area ShopRites -- resulting in healthier foods for inner-city community residents and a great learning experience for the young participants. 

ShopRite Owner Jeff Brown continued his drive to open new supermarkets in underserved communities by breaking ground for a Local 1776-staffed store that will serve North Philadelphia, Southwest Germantown and East Falls.
