Steward Conference and Break-Out Session Official RSVP
In November of 2017, Local 1776 held its second two-day, Local-wide Steward Conference at the Hershey Lodge, in Hershey, PA. I am happy to report the overwhelmingly positive response from stewards following the conference. Stewards expressed their desire to continue to have Local-wide conferences. At this request, we are hosting our third conference on Monday, March 2 and Tuesday, March 3. This will be our first conference post-merger as UFCW Local 1776 Keystone State, and I am looking forward to having our stewards from across 4 states and hundreds of miles under one roof for two days of learning and fun. Due to stewards coming from so many areas, we have moved the 2020 conference to the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center located in State College, PA.
On Monday, we will be hosting two general sessions starting at 12:00 PM. There will also be a bonus morning session for stewards who opted to stay Sunday night. Tuesday will be a full day of workshops beginning with a working breakfast at 7:00 AM. Regardless of where we hold a conference, many of our stewards will have to travel several hours to participate. Given varying travel times and Tuesday’s early start, the Local is providing hotel rooms for stewards who wish to stay overnight on Monday, March 2. Because space is limited at the Penn Stater, stewards will need to room with another steward of their choice. As an added bonus, we will also offer hotel accommodations on Sunday night. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Union Representative or Marcy Kelly at 610-940-1847.
The Steward Conference will bring all of our stewards together for a variety of useful, educational workshops. More information about the agenda, timing of the conference, and stipends can be found inside this update.
An important survey is below. Please take a moment to fill out and submit it. Please complete the survey by Monday, February 3 so that we can have an accurate count for the conference.
