Directions to Local 1776's NE Division Office:

From Northeast PA: 

n  I-81 south to Exit 175-A (Route 315 south) Pittston;

n  Take Route 315 south for approximately ½ mile;

n  Local 1776 office is on left side, with "2007" in large numbers on the building (next to Pazzo's Restaurant)

  

From Southeast PA:

n  I-81 north to Exit 175 (315 north);

n  Go ¼ mile to light – make a u-turn or turn left at light into the park & ride lot, then turn right onto Route 315 south;

n  Go approximately ½ mile.  Local 1776's office is on the left, with "2007" in large numbers on the building (next to Pazzo's Restaurant)

 

 From the NE Extension of the PA Turnpike, I-476

n  Take exit 115 (Pittston);

n  Turn onto Route 315 south;

n  Go about 1 mile.  Local 1776's office is on the left, with "2007" in large numbers on our building (next to Pazzo's Restaurant)

From the Harrisburg area:

  • Take US Route 15 south to US 30 west;
  • Follow US Route 30 west for nine miles; the office will be on your right.

From SE Pennsylvania:

  • Take the PA Turnpike west to Exit 236 (US Route 15 south);
  • Follow US Route 15 south approximetly 28 miles to US Route 30 west;
  • Follow US Route 30 west for nine miles; the office will be on your right.

From western Pennsylvania:

  • Take US Route 30 east; the office will be on your left

From Maryland:

  • Take I-81 north to Exit 16, and US Route 30 east for approximately 17 miles; the office will be on your right; or
  • Take US Route 15 north to US Route 30, and follow US Route 30 west for approximately nine miles; the office will be on your right.

Local 1776's most recent Update to members at Cargill includes news of Health Advocate, a new tool available to all members to help simplify the use of the Local's health care benefits. Also, the Local 1776 Credit Union will visit Cargil on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

NE Division Awards 10 Scholarships
The sons and daughters of nine Local 1776 members and one college student member won $1,200 scholarships each in the Northeast Division's annual award program.

Empire Kosher Honored by Jewish Labor Committee
June 21, 2007 -- The national Jewish Labor Committee last night honored Empire Kosher as its Company of the Year at a dinner in New York City, citing the firm's progressive and productive relations with its workers. At right, UFCW International President Joe Hansen meets with Empire workers who attended the dinner and Local 1776 staff, headed by Michele Kessler, Secretary-Treasurer and Director of the Local's Northeast and Central Divisions. President Hansen introduced Empire CEO Greg Rosenbaum to the dinner crowd of more than 600 people.

Knouse Members Ratify New Three-Year Pact
Local 1776 members at Knouse Foods in Peach Glen, Orrtanna and Chambersburg, PA gave their approval to a three-year contract. At right is the Local's Knouse bargaining committee.

Bob Casey Pays Pre-Victory Visit to Greater Wilkes-Barre Labor Council
Just days before winning election to the U.S. Senate, Bob Casey. Jr. met with members of Local 1776 at the Greater Wilkes-Barre Labor Council.

Local 1776 Helps Truth Hardware Workers
Local 1776 donated $1,000 to assist the locked out workers of GMP Local 90 at Truth Hardware located in an industrial park in Hazleton.
