Acme Members Learn more about the Voluntary Severance Program

Acme members met on Wednesday January 19th to hear from UFCW Local 1776 President Wendell Young about the Voluntary Severance Program being offered by their employer Acme Markets. The Acme members listened to Wendell Young, consultants for the Health and Welfare Funds and each other.  After a thorough discussion of the issue the membership voted unanimously that:   there shall be no consideration of or vote on acceptance on the Company's proposed VSP unless and until these issues (cost impact on the pension and health and welfare funds) are negotiated and resolved  to the satisfaction of both the Union and the Company.
