A&P Closes Two Stores in 1776 Jurisdiction

A&P today announced the closing of 32 stores – including the Saucon Valley Pathmark in Bethlehem, PA and the Lionville, PA Super Fresh in Local 1776’

 Some 80 members of Local 1776 will be affected by the decision.  Wendell W. Young, President of Local 1776, said the company reported that the closures are expected to take effect in mid-April.   He said the union was told by the company that the closures are part of its restructuring effort as it works to emerge from bankruptcy.
