Bids received for Md., D.C. Superfresh stores

The parent company of Superfresh received bids for 12 of the 25 stores put up for sale in a bankruptcy auction this week and said it expects to realize up to $40 million as the result of the sales.

 
Super Market News reported a joint venture of Springfield, N.J.-based ShopRite operator Village Super Market and Mrs. Green’s Management Corp. bid for 10 of the stores, while Supervalu bid on one location, and one other store has received a purchase offer from its landlord.
