Democratic Convention: A Grand Slam Home Run!
It's hard to imagine that the 2012 Obama/Biden reelection effort could have gotten off to a better official start. The pundits are raving about the energy in the Convention hall, and are predicting a huge "bump" for the Democratic ticket.
The cheering crowd at the Convention was brought to its feet too many times to count as President Obama made his acceptance speech. Visit here for the full video, and visit here for text. The President's address came just one night after former President Bill Clinton rocked the hall in delivered a rousing nomination of the President for relection. Referring to the ecomomy that Obama inherited when he took office in 2008, Clinton told the delegates that all that the Republicans can say is, "We left him a total mess. He hasn't finished cleaning it up yet, so fire him and put us back in."
President Clinton's conclusion: "I like the argument for President Obama's relection a lot better."
