March 21, 2013 -- PA House votes to privatize wine and liquor sales. The House voted 105-90 to approve the bill which would sell liquor licenses to private owners and eventually close all 600 Wine & Spirit Stores, leaving all 3,500 UFCW employees out of work. The fight is not over.  The bill will now be sent to the Senate for consideration.  Do not delay--call your State Senator and tell them you oppose privatization of PA's Wine & Spirits Stores.  UFCW urges Senate to look at common sense modernization legislation 

 

March 18, 2013 -- The House Liquor Control Committee has voted to send a privatization bill to the floor of the House.  This bill could pass as early as Wendesday, March 20, 2013 and would eliminate 3,500 family-sustaining UFCW jobs.  We must come together and collectively take action.
