Mission Statement: The Marin Institute fights to protect the public from the impact of the alcohol industry’s negative practices. We monitor and expose the alcohol industry’s harmful actions related to products, promotions and social influence, and support communities in their efforts to reject these damaging activities.

President: Cathy-Summa Wolfe

Funding: The Marin Institute is funded by the Buck Trust, which also funds the The Buck Institute on Age Research, the Buck Institute for Education, and the Marin Community Foundation. We also receive funding from the California Endowment and individual donors.

The Buck Trust  

The Leonard and Beryl Buck Foundation (Buck Trust) was created in 1975 after Beryl Buck left $9.1 million to Marin County, California with the provision that it be used to serve the needs of the County residents.  The Buck Trust supports The Marin Institute, The Buck Institute for Age Research, the Buck Institute on Education, and the Marin Community Foundation.
