Dear UFCW Local 1776 Member,
Recently, the union learned that there was potentially unauthorized access from a foreign IP system to union employee e-mails. Upon learning of this circumstance, we immediately conducted an in-depth analysis of the union employee emails to determine the scope of affected information. Following this review by an expert, unfortunately, we cannot determine which files, if any, were actually accessed or compromised.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have initiated notification to those whose information was potentially accessible. To that end, we will be mailing notification letters to affected individuals in the near future. If you receive one of these letters, that means you may have been affected by the potential incident. In your letter, there will be information for you on how to enroll in a complimentary identity theft protection service being offered. There will also be a point of contact for you if you have further questions. If you do not receive one of these letters, that means that you were likely not affected by this potential incident.
Again, we do not know if any files were accessed but we want to make sure that we are transparent and notify you of a possible compromise and measures we took. We hope that you and your family have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
