  • The Second Annual Ryan Kelly Memorial Beef and Beer
    Updated On: Sep 26, 2017

    UFCW Local 1776 Members,

We would like to take a moment to remember UFCW Local 1776 Acme Markets member Ryan Kelly, a bright young man that was tragically killed in a senseless act of violence on his way home from work over a year ago, and would like to invite you to a celebration in honor of his life. The 2nd annual Ryan Kelly Memorial Beef and Beer will be held on Friday, October 6th from 7 pm to 11 pm at The Southampton Room, located at 2980 Southampton Rd in Philadelphia. Tickets are $30 and will be available until October 1st.

The proceeds of the 2nd annual Ryan Kelly Memorial Beef and Beer will benefit Friends of Saint George Catholic School, who have sponsored several events in Ryan's honor since he was tragically taken.  Last year, the money donated to Friends of Saint George was used to further the education of six students enrolled in Saint George School. Students grades 5-7 participated in an essay competition in which the winning students were selected for a monetary award towards their tuition.

Saint George School, located at 2700 E. Venango Street in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, is a Pre-K through 8th-grade educational institution that has been serving the children of the neighborhood and the surrounding areas since 1902.  In 2010, St George School was scheduled for closure by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The decision was appealed and the school successfully avoided closure. Friends of Saint George was formed by parents of students and community friends to help the students of Saint George School. This organization does this by holding events and fundraisers in which the money raised is used directly for the students of the school. They are a non-profit organization and donations will be tax exempt.

If you would like to attend this event, please contact Amy Kelly-Campbell at 267-207-4665 or William Kelly at 215-900-5228.

We look forward to seeing you there!
