UFCW 1776 Keystone State Announces Temporary Wage “Premium” for Acme Members

PLYMOUTH MEETING (MARCH 20, 2020) – UFCW 1776KS President Wendell W. Young IV announced that the Local has negotiated a temporary wage “premium” for members who work at Acme Markets. Effective immediately, members at all Acme locations are eligible to earn a temporary $2 per hour wage premium.

The company agreed to this temporary increase to express their appreciation for the incredible work you are all doing in the midst of this crisis, Young said. This temporary $2 premium is in effect for this week and next week. Members who work for 45 hours in a week, you will receive a $90 bonus. The Company will review this policy at the end of next week.

“I am extraordinarily proud of the dedication to the families and communities all of our members are serving throughout incredibly difficult and challenging time,” Young said.

Young noted that UFCW 1776KS represents 35,000 members in a wide array of industries, including workers in grocery stores, pharmacies, nursing homes, public works departments, cannabis dispensaries, and in food processing.

“As we move forward, we will continue to work closely with the company to protect all of our members’ interests throughout this crisis” Young said.
