Dear RiteAid Union Stewards,
By now you may have heard that we have reached a tentative agreement with RiteAid on a new union contract. While we are working on the details of presenting this for a vote by the members we wanted to let you know that the message copied below will be going to all RiteAid members later this morning.
Contact your union representative with any questions. Be safe! – Wendell
Dear Local 1776 members at RiteAid,
After months of hard work by your Union bargaining committee, preparing and negotiating for a new contract with the company, we are recommending to bring a tentative agreement for you to vote on.
This tentative agreement provides for increases to the start and minimum rates, wage increases for each year of the agreement, increases to the maximum hourly rates (lump-sum payments for those who are at or above those rates) and increased personal days for most members. We will be sending out separate communications soon on the voting process that will comply with the Governor’s directive on social distancing.
In addition to this news, I am pleased to announce that the company has agreed to a cash bonus to all hourly associates, a recognition of your dedication to your communities as front line, essential workers. The bonuses will be paid as follows:
- $200 for hourly associates averaging more than 30 hours/week
- $100 for hourly associates averaging fewer than 30 hours/week
These bonuses are calculated based on average hours worked over the last 14 weeks. The bonuses will be paid on December 18.
Without question, you have all worked above and beyond the call of duty in the face of global pandemic and this bonus is a reflection of that hard work.
This has been a very difficult year for all of us and I want to thank you once again for being a member.
Happy Holidays,
Wendell Young IV
