UFCW 1776 Organizing Campaign at Coffee Shop Chain Gains Traction in Pittsburgh

UFCW 1776 rallied workers and a host of elected Officials at Pittsburgh-based Coffee Tree Roasters after the company fired an employee who appeared in a video in support of UFCW 1776’s organizing campaign. Lt. Governor John Fetterman, Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey and UFCW 1776 President Wendell Young IV joined with local lawmakers, workers at the company and community leaders to show their support. Workers at all five Coffee Tree Roasters locations have voted to unionize and President Young, who noted that coffee shops have become a priority for the Local’s organizing efforts, said that this fight is not over.
